Who We Are
Dr. Justin D. Brown took over the business formerly known as Pioneer Pet Clinic when Dr. Melvin Dewey retired in 2005. Dr. Brown's goal was to create a wellness center that focused on preventive care as well as emergent care. Brown Animal Hospital moved across the street to a new and larger location in early 2014. As we grow, we are excited to continue to add to our services.

Dr. Justin D. Brown
Dr. Brown received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois (Go Illini) in 2001. He practiced as an associate in Danville, IL before moving his young family to Peoria in 2005 to start his own business. Dr. Brown lives in rural Princeville with his wife, children, dogs, cats, and pig.

Dr. Stephanie Gingras
Dr. Gingras received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University (Boiler Up). She has been with Brown Animal Hospital since 2013. She lives in Peoria with her husband, children and various cats and dogs.

Dr. Carl J. Johnson
Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University (Go Cyclones). He owned his own clinic in Pekin for many years before retiring and then unretiring to work at BAH in 2020. We hope to hang on to him for as long as he can take us.
Our Mission
Our goal and policy is to treat our clients as we would treat our families, and to treat our clients' pets as though they were our own. Our clients are the heart of our practice and the reason we are here. At all times our clients and patients will be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. Being of service to our patients is our purpose and the mission of our practice.
